I want to thank Sadru, Fatma, and their wonderful staff for helping us with one of the most memorable trips of our lifetime. We were on a trip with Discover Safaris between March 12th and 19th, 2022.

I liked the fact that I could safely pay for the entire trip with my credit card before leaving the US. Upon arrival, we were promptly picked up by Sifuni at the Kilimanjaro airport and took off for Lake Manyara national park without any delays. From then to Ngorongoro (must visit), Serengeti, Masai Mara, Nairobi, and back to the USA. Needless to say, the lodges, food, and game drives were simply amazing. The hot air balloon ride in Masai Mara was absolutely worth it.

The staff in Tanzania (Sifuni) and Kenya (Richard) were extremely knowledgeable, very courteous, and went above and beyond on the game drives. Not to forget, very safe drivers too. I am so grateful to Sadru and his team to arrange for my camera battery and charger to be purchased and shipped from Nairobi when mine stopped working in the middle of the trip. They also arranged for our Covid-19 antigen testing in Nairobi (on our return journey).

I wish Sadru, Fatma, and the team all the best and hope they continue helping hundreds of visitors fulfill their dreams of an East Africa safari.

Discover Kenya was the most incredible company I’ve worked with. I worked with Sadru through the Covid-19 changes. They helped step by step through barriers (price rise by airlines and hotel cancellations) during the Omicron height.

They were patient and always opened to work with us. Our party was made up of 6 people. With Sadru’s persistence and encouragement the Safari happened.

AND WHAT A INCREDIBLE SAFARI AND LIFE EXPERIENCE IT WAS. All the individuals continue to rate it as one of the best trip and we all spread the word of this company’s group of people. I could go on for hours about our two drivers Rahim and the Big Sifuni. They were not just good tour/drives but outstanding PEOPLE.

We really liked the camps and staying in two different areas of Masai Mara turned out to be a great option in terms of game drives.

John Ndichu was an amazing guide, always going beyond expectation to make sure we made the most of all the places we were.

We realize we never sent you a full review of our overall trip. It’s been so long and so much has happened since, but we didn’t want to miss another opportunity to recognize the incredible trip that your team created for us (and, in particular, the amazing job Victor did).

When we first started planning the trip, we didn’t really know what to expect. However, the responsiveness and flexibility that both of you showed in helping us develop our itinerary really sold us. Your patience helped us get the exact itinerary we wanted (while guiding us away from some lesser ideas we had) was very much appreciated.

The itinerary allowed us to get a great intro to Kenya. All of the hotels were honestly amazing. Tortilis – Staff was incredible, food was great and the views of Kilimanjaro were breathtaking. The Cliff (really glad you made us go, Sadru!) – Insanely beautiful hotel and tents. One of our favorite activities was the balloon ride and safari brunch. It seemed kitschy, but you should still recommend it to your guests.

Last, but certainly not least, was Victor. Victor was the highlight of our trip. He was incredibly professional and educational, explaining everything to us (even if we already asked about it 12 times). Despite the ridiculous amounts of driving our itinerary made him do, Victor never complained, always keeping a smile on his face and ready to go wherever needed. It was great to have Victor to chat with during long drives or during lunch (and to hear his jokes – “lion wedding”). Our favorite part was how fascinated Victor was by the animals. Even after many years on safari, he still enjoys seeing them. On our last safari, we hadn’t seen lions all day and it had just started raining badly. After 30 minutes of driving around, we told Victor that it was fine and we could start heading back. He really wanted us to see lions on our last day, and insisted on searching a bit more. 20 minutes later, we came upon a sleeping lion near the road. 5 minutes later, one more ran over. After another 5 minutes, 3 more came over. Because of Victor’s insistence, we got to watch a pride of lions run around for an hour as our last experience on safari.

Overall, we cannot say enough about the trip you all and Victor put together for us. We will gladly recommend Discover to anyone traveling to East Africa.

We have been back home a few days now and are still getting over the 9 hour jet lag. It is hard to believe that our wonderful, long awaited trip has come and gone already.

We just wanted to let you know it was the best experience of our lives and every part of our trip was perfectly planned out down to the last detail. John was waiting for us at the airport and whisked us to the Ole Sereni for the night. It had the game park in the back and we had the most amazing meal for dinner. Breakfast was on their open patio and it was a great beginning to our holiday. Thank you for the Souvenir Package that Japhet brought to us – it was very thoughtful and will be a lovely reminder of our trip. Japhet briefed us on what to expect and it was nice to finally meet him.

John was a wonderful driver/guide and such a gentleman. He was a wealth of knowledge and told us about all our surroundings and could name every bird, animal and plant. He clearly loves what he is doing and we would all sit in amazement as we watched the elephants walking or the interaction of the animals. He could spot an animal where we saw nothing and would not rest until even on the last evening, when we did not see much game all afternoon, he drove around and found a Black Rhino coming out of the bush. What a man! He drove us to the airport the following morning and stayed with us until the plane took off.

Elly was an excellent driver and we nicknamed him “eagle eyes” as he, too, could spot leopards and cheetahs in the grass or up in the tree a great distance away. We had so many sightings of these amazing cats that when we tell people how we saw ALL of the Big Five many times they are surprised. He would give us options for the timing of the game drives and arrange for picnic lunches when needed. It was a pleasure having him show us how the animals live and what to look for when trying to spot game. Still remember our first leopard sighting near the Serengeti Sopa Lodge, a real beauty.

Perhaps one of the highlights of the trip (there were many) was Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge – It was stunning! We were blown away by the setting overlooking the Rift Valley, the accommodations were probably the nicest we have ever seen and the food was excellent. Had we known we would have liked to have stayed an extra day to enjoy the beautiful pool  and scenery. We were sad to have to leave right away in the morning without spending more time there.

We already have many friends asking who we used as an Agent to book our Safari and, of course, we will recommend you without reservation. Thank you for planning our trip – It was truly a trip of a lifetime which we will always remember.

I have been meaning to send this for some time. I was part of the group with Cat Simba Safaris in November. I just wanted to say how fantastic all of our drivers/guides were. They were so knowledgeable (whatever odd question was presented to them, and I did hear many), helpful, kind, funny and above all just a joy to be around. I particularly wanted to give a shout out to Little John, we pretty much stuck with him the whole time so I am a bit prejudiced on this. But every single member of your staff went above and beyond my expectations.

Thank you so much for helping to make my trip an adventure I will never forget!

Few days has passed from our return from Kenya, and I would like to give you
a feedback regarding our trip.

We saw wonderful places, the organisation was perfect, but, above all, we
had a skillful tour guide (John) who has also revealed to be a wonderful and
lovely person. Moreover, he helped us to understand fully African culture
and its people. Therefore, I was wondering whether you could further and
again thank him and say hi to him from all of us.

In the future, it is our intention to come back in the center Africa for
this reason I would like to ask you a list of destinations tours that you
can organise in that area, because we would like to refer back to you again.

We contacted Discover Safaris when they were recommended by a colleague. I told them places that I had heard about and we developed an itinerary that would maximize the different experiences for the the time of year we were traveling. I compared their itinerary with other very highly rated US companies and they were considerably less expensive. We had very high expectations for this vacation and it well exceeded all of them! Everyone was incredible. We went back and forth from Kenya to Tanzania twice, visiting 6 different parks without a hitch. The guides were amazing – warm, caring, and very very knowledgeable. In addition, the first leg of trip started with a flight cancellation that forced us to arrive a day late in Kenya, and Sadru and Ezekiel seamless shifted our entire trip by a day so we were able to do everything we had planned on this vacation of a lifetime. It could not have been a better experience and I can’t thank Discover Safaris enough for making this amazing trip so easy.
