Lake Kivu
One of the African Great Lakes in and around the East African Rift, it empties into the Congo River system rather than the White Nile system. It is a fresh-water lake (unlike many of the alkaline lakes in the Rift) but does experience limnic eruptions.
Musanze
Mountainous district in the north of Rwanda, containing most of Volcanoes National Park (Parc National des Volcans), most of the Virunga chain volcanoes and most of Rwanda's mountain gorillas. The main city of Ruhengeri is the gateway for gorilla treks in Rwanda.
