Our History
In 1960, our founder Fatma and her father began running a tour and safari company called African Roadways out of Mombasa. In those days, many visitors to East Africa came on the cruise ships to the Kenyan port. We have remained dedicated to sharing, promoting and nurturing our natural and cultural heritage since then, as well as the tourist industry and our clients’ happiness, despite political, economic and social changes in East Africa and the world. Over 50 years later, Fatma’s experience is still guiding our clients on memorable and wonderful safaris and tours in the region, and partnerships established over those five decades are still going strong. We are committed to the long-term health and welfare of our flora, fauna, people and traditions, as well as all the friendships, relationships, alliances, memories and smiles that we have created all over the globe.
We now operate as Discover Kenya Safaris (started in 1984) and Discover Tanzania Safaris (started in 1992), and our number one goal is to bring happiness. Yes, we know that many people may say that; but we really, truly mean it. We have a wonderful team of individuals who all work to plan and arrange your trip as per your request. You can ask for our guidance, or you can tell us exactly what you want, or any combination thereof.
